Motown in Chi Town

Motown in Chi Town is a musical tribute to the great Motown artists of the 60’s and 70’s. The show was put together by producer John Ruffin. John just produced the hit stage play “The Ideal Husband” which I blogged about earlier. This Motown tribute salutes the genius of Michael Jackson, the Supremes, the Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Smokie Robinson and the Miracles and Stevie Wonder. This represents the very best of what Motown had to offer in the “Golden Years” ¬†Each one of the tribute artists did a very creditable job in their portrayal of these legendary artists. This show will return again next Thursday and then for a finale the following Thursday at the Harold Washington Cultural Center on 47th and King Drive. I highly recommend that you go and see this show, hats off to John and his crew for an outstanding production

Bon Voyage, Rashada

Rashada, Rashada. What a musical name, what a musical lady. On your way to the bright lights of Las Vegas to become a part of the cast of “The Lion King”. The many friends who turned out were treated to song and dance, with a touch of “chuch” (church for the uninitiated). A host of other performers took turns in the celebration, but the night belonged to Rashada. We salute you and we know you will represent the Windy City very well. Good luck and Godspeed to you Rashada.
