Took my grand daughter to the pumpkin farm this week. She rode the pony, saw a pig race, went in the corn maze, and got scared by a couple of the spookies :>) We had a good time.

The Motown show came to DeKalb, Il. and Norhtern Illinois University on Saturday. Once again, the Vanessa Holmes production was music to the ears of all those who came out. The concert paid tribute to The Temptaions, The Supremes, The Four Tops, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight and the Pips, The Marvelettes, Smoky Robinson and the Miracles, Martha and the Vandellas, and Mary Wells. This was a great show, all of the performers were very impressive. I must say that the Supremes were among the absolute show stealers, maybe as a major Supreme fan from way back, I am biased) they had the look, moves and sound of that girl super group. “Smoky” was a ladies favorite (see web photo) and the Temptations sported one of the best bass singers I have heard since Melvin Franklin. The show was emceed by BLT, man is he funny and anchored by show producer, Vanessa Holmes. Vanessa is blessed with that proverbial “extra gear” in the vocal department. This show will be coming to Governors State University in early November, I highly recommend it.
A Tribute to the Motown Greats is a great show that . . .pays tribute to the greats of Motown. If you were/are a fan of the Temptations, Four Tops, Supremes, Miracles, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson and other great artists, you need to see this show. I will be there, again, it is that good. Kudos to V Holmes Entertainment for this production for an outstanding show.
This past weekend was not ideal weather wise, BUT they often say that bad weather makes for good photographs, so I put that notion to the test. I used as my subject, the acclaimed author of “Liberated Expression” Brenda Taylor.
Besides being a talented writer, she proved to be an excellent photographic subject as you can see from the above shots .
